NAS 2017. Courses at ICUA

In 2017 ICUA Zadar will continue to organize Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) courses. NAS courses aim to provide not just an introduction to the underwater archaeology, but also offer people a chance to build their skills and experience, allowing them to take part in projects and fieldwork around the world and perhaps to run their own projects. The ICUA Team will conduct NAS courses during 2017 in Zadar County. Theoretical lectures will be conducted at the classroom in ICUA premises, and practical exercises will be conducted in the underwater environs of archaeological site Barbir in Sukošan near Zadar.

Underwater Photogrammetry Course

International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar (ICUA) and Institute for Underwater Archaeology (ZAPA) from Slovenia are organizing Underwater Photogrammetry Course. Aim of this course is to teach all the participants the basic knowledge of photogrammetry process and how to implement it in everyday work. The accent is on underwater archaeology, but the knowledge gained from it could be applied in many other scientific and commercial domains. The software that will be used for photogrammetric modeling is Agisoft PhotoScan.

Call for applications: Introductory Courses on Conservation and Restoration of Archaeological Finds from Underwater Environments, 2015

1. Introduction

The International Centre for Underwater Archaeology (ICUA) is organizing two courses on the restoration and conservation of underwater archaeological finds, to be held in Zadar, Croatia during the 16 – 27 November and 30 November – 11 December, 2015 periods. The courses are organized with the support of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe (UNESCO Venice Office), within the framework of the annual contribution by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy to the UNESCO Venice Office.
