Experts from the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology visited Montenegro

At the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro underwater archaeologists and conservators from the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar visited Montenegro in the period from 21 to 23 November 2016. Croatian experts have held a series of lectures at the workshop in Cetinje titled "Protection and promotion of underwater cultural heritage - national and regional experiences" covering the themes of physical and legal protection of underwater heritage, the problems of illegal extraction and removal of underwater cultural heritage, conservation and restoration of underwater archaeological findings, presentation and tourist valorization of underwater cultural heritage, education and research methodology at various underwater sites in Croatia and Montenegro. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to start concrete cooperation in the field of underwater archeology and conservation of underwater findings between the two countries.
